Mathis Staff Spotlight: Ben Mathis

You never know what the days hold here at Mathis until you’re in them, but one thing you can expect in our Rome store is to meet our Store Manager, Ben Mathis. He loves how every day can look a little different here as he meets all of y’all working on your next big project. So make sure to say hi to Ben if you come to visit us here on Kingston Highway!

How long have you worked at Mathis Trailers?

Since August 2016

What do you enjoy about your job at Mathis?

I enjoy working around my family and people who are like family. I also like the employee to customer interaction. It is nice talking with different customers from all over the U.S. and also being able to supply them with the right equipment needed.

What’s a great customer experience you’ve had during your time here?

All of my customer experiences are great. It is enjoyable seeing the “light bulb” moment in a customer’s eyes when you teach/inform them of the functions, operations, and capabilities our equipment can offer.

Tell us about your family (spouse, kids, etc).

My parents are Robert and Sabrina Mathis. I have a brother, Zach Mathis, and his wife and daughter, Ansley and Maybrie. I am also in a relationship with Kristen Pope.

Do you have any animals? If so, what are they / how many / what are their names?

Formally known as the mascot of Mathis Trailers and Equipment Sales, my dog Zoey is an Australian Shepherd that loves people, especially the UPS and FedEx drivers who bring her treats every day.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

When I am not at work, I enjoy working around my house. I also like to cook, go to concerts, and have social gatherings with my friends.

What’s one piece of equipment you use on your farm/property that you’d recommend someone else get?

I have used a Branson 2400H tractor and landscape rake in my yard to clean up debris and move dirt around after I had lots of trees removed. It is very surprising at what big task a small Branson tractor will do
